Guest/Yarn Room Update
Posted on Monday, December 3rd, 2007 at 5:05 pmWe finally finished the upstairs guest room/yarn room. Kevin painted and I organized, organized, organized and organized.
To refresh your memory here is one little “before” picture. As far as the rest of the room, we had a double bed, no dresser and more yarn bags were strewn about. It was not the best room. In fact, and to be honest, it was quite a mess!
Now it is a room to be proud of. As you walk into the room you see the pretty new paint and new queen size bed. Guests will be comfortable in here. I no longer have to shove aound bags of yarn to clear them a spot.
Facing the bed is a new dresser that Kevin bought unfinished and finished himself along with a TV for watching Knitting Gritty, of course. The picture there is from France. (There may be more yarn in the closet and dresser but we can save that for a rainy day.
As you turn to the right you see a light, and a comfy chair complete with a Shiatsu Massage. Very nice to be in while knitting. Behind the chair are hooks for my bags. Yes some of them have yarn/projects in them.
Keep turning to the right and you can see the YARN! Lots of yarn, lots of projects waiting for me. Hanging on the chair is an old quilt that my Great, Grandmother made.
On the wall to the left I have some cool fabric maps from England and Scotland that I framed.
On the wall to the right are my yarn cubbies and shelves with magazines and even more projects. My books and pattern notebooks are on a bookshelf in the office. There is only so much room in here! Not to mention the books are pretty heavy for the shelves in here and it looks nicer to not crowd this up too much!
In case you are wondering, yes I do have even more yarn stored neatly in bins in the crawl spaces. There is a crawl space on both sides of the room.
What room wouldn’t be complete without the “Little Princess” making herself comfortable.
Actually, Dina think this is her room. This seems to be where she hangs out all day. I would to, if I could. I hope you enjoyed all of my hard work. Now onto the rest of the house!
