Thanks to my friend Nachaele and last weekend, I am on Ravelry and it is cool but very very time consuming. I now have a plan, I must take it one day a time, a little at a time. If not I will lose my job, my husband, my house; I will be out there sitting on 16th mall with my computer trying to hook into free internet, all for the sake of Ravelry, mmm … no wait that is bad, right? I am finding it quite fun and fascinating at the moment. Thanks Nachele! No really, let me say that again only with more sarcasm, THANKS … Nachaele!!

I have actually been a member of Ravelry since May of 2007 but I never really bothered to check it out before. I discovered that I have friends. Claudia was my very first friend on Ravelry and of course my most glamorous friend. (she has a Beauty Queen photo out there)  She invited me to be her friend in June of 2007. I also found that I have a few other friends out there waiting for me to invite them to be my friend. I was really dissin’ them by not going into my Ravelry account, like Mountain Purl, Lil Black Sheep,  Sheep in the CityEat-Knit-Sleep, StarSpry and JConklin to name a few. I have hopefully amended my ways and added them all as my friends. I learned that you have to be a friend to have a friend. Well enough of that ….

I had a wonderful knitting weekend in Buena Vista with some very wonderful friends, old and new (more details to follow, I have no time right now since I discovered Ravelry) and I am back to normal this week. It ended all too soon ….

More to come about my weekend, my purchases and oh yes I have much to tell about the discovery of a new yarn store. Be sure to visit me soon .. I am purpleprincess on Ravelry.  I know what a surprise. Oh yea and THANKS NACHAELE!

It is Friday Yet?

Yes it is and WooHoo!

I have made some progress on my “plain” sock even though I ripped it, it is now coming along nicely and look what a great fit so far.

I am also doing a different gusset heel than what I would normally do and I love it. I think it looks nice too. What a great way to make fast beautiful socks.

Since it is Friday already and close to another weekend, I may be rested up enough to disclose some of the fun I had last weekend in Buena Vista. I had a blast at the Liars Lodge with some knitting friends.

First the Lodge is wonderful

Oh but, look what you see when you step outside. Breathtaking. I love being here. I was born in Salida, not far from here and I never get tired visiting the area. I just love it.

We did hat rallies downstairs while some people watched the World Series upstairs. I never heard of this until Christie told me but it obviously didn’t help it the Rockies win, it was just fun!

The Judy P and Judy S doing theirs. Oh yea Judy S was doing her hat rally with Sock Monkey. How could the Rockies lose with that one? I say we tried and as a non-sports fan I also gave my own hat a little shake up. (mostly cause it was fun not cause I cared.)

More random fun stuff …

here is Claudia spinning away. This weekend was all about doing what you want, when you want.

There is so much more and no time to tell everything but trust me it was a super blast.

There is also a great yarn store in town, less than a mile away so I will tell you later all about my several trips to the Buena Vista LYS named Serendipity. I bought one thing every time I went, that way I could spread out the fun.  I ended up with quite a few things if that tells you anything!

Plain Take 2

Posted on Wednesday, October 31st, 2007 at 9:10 pm

For those of you who know me, you will not be surprised. I almost finished one sock and now it looks like this …

Yes, same as yesterday. I ripped. After all, that is what I do best. Rip, rip, rip. There was a little tiny hole after the heel turn on the corner plus I thought my heel turn looked a little wonky. That just won’t work for me. I know I can do better so here I am again. I know I am somewhat of a princess perfectionist about my knitting but hey after all it must look good and just think now I get to enjoy knitting again with the same wonderful yarn, without having to buy more. After all …… the only thing that matters is THE PRINCESS IS KNITTING!

This is a sneak preview of my very fun weekend spent in Buena Vista knitting with friends, shopping, knitting, shopping, a little sleeping and well you know knitting.  What a great shirt, I think everyone was laughing at me with me when I walked out wearing this one!

Oh yea and my hair is now short, really short.  Funny thing is I really don’t miss it.
